Letting My Purpose Find Me

For the first time in as long as I can remember, I didn't fill my time.  I didn't go in search of myself and my calling.  I didn't take on and try a million different things, hoping one would be my purpose.  Rather, I emptied myself completely in search of what would fill me back up.

Family Halloween Costumes

I have created an impossible task for myself in coming years. What started as a fun quirky idea for Halloween (with one simple toddler might I add) has turned into a tradition that gets amped up more and more every year. The coordinating themed family Halloween costume.

Softball Sleepover Birthday

I loved watching K play and interact with her friends. Friends from her new school and new life with us. I loved how she was so caring and thoughtfully included her little sister who so desperately wanted to be part of the group.  I loved every time she whispered "thank you" to me in appreciation.  I loved the whole party (in spite of all the madness). And of course all the little details I thrive on came together perfectly making it all the better.  The decor was minimal, but the prep was detailed as always! Here is an inside look to Kennedy's softball slumber party!

Real Life Motherhood

Happiness: its about balance not perfection!

Now, this is not a blog about "level ten living".  I am NOT telling you to achieve greatness and perfection in every area of your life. Perfection in motherhood is impossible... but balance is possible and necessary. When you strive towards balance you can once again become your happy mom self.

One Mom’s Grief

You can grieve the loss of an idea or dream that didn't come true.  You can grieve your preconceived notions of what should or could have been.  You may be a momma who needs fertility treatment to conceive, and you grieve the idea of a "normalized pregnancy".  You may be a working mom who grieves the idea of staying home with her babies.  You may be a stay at home mom grieving the working life you put on pause or gave up.  You may be a dad surrounded by beautiful daughters grieving passing down legacies and the family name through a son. I grieve my "what if" or "could have been" life that I will now never live.  And I am not alone.
